This is pretty neat, you've mentioned you're aware of your mastering so I won't harp on that too much - the 1st kick (0:33) needs to be powered up, and the 2nd one (1:55) is clipping I believe. They may actually be the same kick, responding differently to the rest of the mix I'm not sure. The snare and hats also sound a little close-up (they need to be mixed in more).

On the good side however, this is a neat bunch of ideas and quite easy to listen to. Have you ever listened to Chicane? It sounds reminiscent of em! Work on the mastering and you'll have something pretty nice here.

XToxicReaper responds:

Yes thank you for the respond.

I was a little worried of what happened to the mix down coming to the snare and hats. On the kicks your speculation was right I use the same kick twice so before I master it I might have to fix it up on the kicks department. Also I feel like I have to make a new drum pattern as well hopefully, this would happen.

Thanks for the Critic it very well appreciated

Hopefully my first song will come out well after I'm done mastering it.

I have no idea what's up with the biases in the previous 2 posts - they're examining your song very subjectively, ignoring the fine production and arrangement. If I had to criticize I would say that the sound /is/ quite generic, but the flip-side is that this genre is very hard to master correctly and you've done a good job.

I'd rate this 4/5, but since there's 2 idiotic zero-bombs on it I'm gonna say 5/5.

Airprogressive responds:

Thank u 4 your review & votes!

:)

This is hectic. You've got a terrific ear for melody and all the skill it takes to spin that into an audio file! 4.5 instead of 5 because it's too short! moremoremoremoremore xD

Lockyn responds:

Thanks so much :') I will be sure to finish this one up first, seems to be my most popular at the moment xD Cheers!!!

Lovin' the drums! Broski do you master entirely with FL or do you use other software as well?

DESHIEL responds:

FL only.

This isn't half bad for what it is.

My biggest complaint is the voice saying "this is a dzastabeatz production". I'm not sure if it's supposed to be there to prevent piracy or something, but it's awful lol.

I really appreciate the new tone it takes at 1:35, and I'm really not much of a hip-hop connoisseur!

I'm not such a fan of your piano - it's a little cheesy, almost like an epiano. You may be lowpassing it a little high? It also clips a tiny bit when it hits higher notes.

When you glitch the drums at 1:00 it clips a little too.

Overall, this isn't bad and I'm really impressed by the intense, emotionally-happy parts like 1:35. They're really feel-good! Easily a 3.5/5!

DzastaBeatz responds:

Thanks, That's some really good feedback! But yeah we put that tag in there just so no one would try and take it, Lol we just gotta get a better tag

And love this and your style in general is terrific. I am consistently blown away by your work!

I wonder if throwing some complex tabla or jambe drumming into a piece like this would be effective? I get the idea it could really complement the snare!

Emid responds:

Well thanks so much. Glad you liked it. Tabla is a good idea to complement the snares. Agree it could be better sounding then. Thats why I call myself a layman among you guys. Thanks again for a nice idea.

You made that really cheesy string instrument work excellently! This is really impressive. I imagine the coolest things while listening to it. I think you got the volumes juuuust right, mixing everything really powerfully and it's all backed by that sick timpani at the bass? Great work mate, keep it up!

Neon-Bard responds:

Thanks for the review GershBeats! It's a relief to hear that I managed to get the volume 'just right' as I struggle with that at times. :)

This is great! Probably the best use of an arp I've ever heard.

My only complaint - this is too short! I want MORE :D

Lockyn responds:

Thank you so much! Appreciate your checking out my music :) and it's a work in progress! Will be longer ;)

Pretty cool! The volume control (or is it banked delay?) on the lead synth is interesting!
I really like the synth, but I'm not such a fan of the bells. I think that whenever the bells are looping this would reaaally benefit from an ambient pad or FX loop in the background.

The mix isn't bad at all! I'd only suggest you consider lowering the saw-pad's volume a touch.

Overall this really is quite good, my biggest complaint is that it doesn't really go anywhere. I mean the melody switches a little, there's some neat silence-staggering, etc, but it's mostly the same thing over and over again.

Essentially, well done, needs a little more variation! I'll give ya 3.5/5 and happily rate you 4. :)

Septyrikon responds:

Thanks for the feedback :D I know what you mean about it not going anywhere, I didn't really have any ideas as to where it should go, so in the end I just tampered a bit with it and uploaded it. As I wrote in the description, it had been sitting still for some time before I got around to doing anything final about it, so yeah, my interest in it had faded a bit.

All in all, I tend to do music that is centered around a single idea, melody or some such thing. Only rarely do I branch out into other melodies or b- and/or c-parts. Mostly because I find it difficult to get a nice progression between two things like that.

The lead synth is done with a delay effect, not volume, btw :)

Hehe this is really nice!

The only thing its missing is a HUUUUGE DROP a MASSIVE SNARE and a HECTIC WOBBLE BASS.

Totally kidding. This is awesome. I think I smiled the whole way through. You aced the genre!

sorohanro responds:

:D Drop that glockenspiel :D

Heyo, I produce music using Fruity Loops Studio. I love the art of production, and I'm always eager to learn more. I write electronic tunes that tend not to fit within any genre, and I'd like to say that's my style!
