This is OK, maybe it would help if it had some sort of background ambiance or deeper string chords because it sounds quite empty and a piece that's based on strings usually benefits from sounding fuller!

It's not a bad piece, it's just quite generic I suppose. An original element (some sort of FX or a defining melody) would help it maybe! Like if I wanted to hum this to someone I don't know how I would because it doesn't have a defining melody - see what I'm saying? I dunno, that's just my feeling! :)

ToxInjection responds:

I suppose the flute was supposed to be the defining melody, but you're right, it's not exactly fleshed out enough to really be the defining melody in the whole thing.

I didn't give this loop as much attention as other things I do, as it was a small little thing I wanted to put together as I haven't released anything in a while, as I stated above, but I'll definitely keep your criticism in mind should I come back and perhaps make this into a full thing!

Thanks again for your review, I really appreciate it (:

I love this! If I had to criticize it I'd say that while the crescendos are terrific, the less dramatic parts are difficult to listen to, like the lonely-sounding guitar at 2:10 kills me a little bit!

Otherwise the instruments are good, the drums are excellent, and it's nice to listen to.

AryaA responds:

Thanks for review

This is pretty cool, if I had to pick something to criticize about it I'd say watch out for the mastering on the low end, the low freq sounds blend together and lose their distinction a little bit (e.g. the bass blends with the strings sometimes)

Otherwise this is neat :)

Sweet effects! Some parts need a transition instead of abruptly cutting???? I dunno, this is pretty cool!

Fudgehog7 responds:

Thanks!I will do that next time.don't worry

Suffers from poor mastering, particularly difficulty distinguishing between instrument voices and punchy volume here and there. Also a number of the transitions are jarring and repetitive, it's certainly easy to overuse the reverse cymbal sound but I'd suggest you keep away from it a little more!

Smoother transitions and better mastering would make this truly excellent! The melody has a ton of variety and beautiful parts, it's a pity it doesn't sound cleaner.

Rinileki14 responds:

Thank!! -_- lol

I was still trying the teach myself the ways of FL Studios. Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate it.

Heheh FL's DNC_Snare_3 is too easy to pick out!
If I had to criticize it I'd definitely echo Refreshment - if you're gonna use the default drums put some effects on em (reeverb in particular)! Also the arrangement up until 0:30 is a little too predictable? Maybe that's just me.

Anyways this is sweet.

The drums are dry and would likely benefit from some reeverb! The snare is also a little punchy, you may want to drop its volume a touch. Some of the effect transitions (like at 0:30 and 1:08) are a little jarring, maybe phase em in a little less abruptly? Also I have a weird prejudice against songs that fade out to silence, but that's just me!

For what it is this really isn't too bad, when I hear people say "this song is bad" I think of stuff way worse than this :)

Refreshment responds:

Cool, thanks.

Heyo, I produce music using Fruity Loops Studio. I love the art of production, and I'm always eager to learn more. I write electronic tunes that tend not to fit within any genre, and I'd like to say that's my style!
